PAWS recognizes Red Barn Veterinarians

PAWS greatly appreciates the “PAWS recognizes Red Barn Veterinarians” article in the Dahlonega Nugget on August 7, 2013. Just in case you missed it:8-2-13

PAWS HUMANE SOCIETY presented a CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION to Red Barn Veterinarians on August 1, 2013 for providing 200 spay/neuter surgeries. Although all Lumpkin County veterinarians work with PAWS, Red Barn was the first to complete 200 surgeries.

Spay/neuter applications are available online at and at many locations including: Fresh & Frugal, the Helping Place, Senior Center, Wholesome Earth, Golden Pantry, Woodlands Edge, Country Cottage, Gas & Food Mart (Morrison Moore Pkwy and Auraria Rd) and Clay Creek Falls Grocery (Oak Grove Rd).

The pet owner presents a PAWS voucher and $35 to a local participating veterinarian on the scheduled date of surgery and PAWS is billed an additional amount. More than 500 vouchers have been issued during the last eighteen months.

PAWS is a 501 © 3 organization of hardworking volunteers who offer premiums for donations. Fundraising events featuring pet bed covers are held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in the shelter of an old barn behind Red Barn Veterinary Hospital.

PAWS continues to solicit stories, poems, and pictures for a 2013 PAWS BOOK. If you can write a story, volunteer with PAWS or for more information: <>
