Local candidates invited to meet voters at PAWS & Politics event

PAWS & Politics will take place on April 26, 2014 in the Lumpkin County Parks & Rec Building.  PAWS, the Lumpkin County GOP and UNG College Republicans will hold a Spaghetti Dinner from 5 to 7PM.  Advance adult tickets are $10.  Pay $5 at the door for children under ten.

All candidates for County Commission and School Board are invited to attend and meet voters during the dinner.  Voters of all political affiliations are encouraged to attend.

A Forum will begin at 7PM where each candidate will make a brief statement and then answer questions.

Lumpkin GOP and UNG College Republicans recognize the value of private individuals and organizations helping one another instead of expecting government to solve our problems.  They are using this event to provide an opportunity for voters to meet the candidates.  They very generously join with PAWS in a fundraiser that will benefit pet owners and county taxpayers who shoulder the burden of homeless pets.

Funds from the event will be used to subsidize low cost spay/neuter surgery for owned pets in Lumpkin County. In just over two years, PAWS Vouchers have been issued for almost 800 animals.  These efforts will continue to prevent many thousands of homeless pets from becoming a burden on local taxpayers.

Please join us for an evening of good food with interesting people who work to make our county a great place to live.

Emily Lewy, PAWS President
